Breaking; Anambra Lawmaker Mmegbuanaeze Tasks FG On Security issues

The member representing Idemili North Constituency in the state House of Assembly, Mrs. Mmegbuanaeze Nkoli, has urged the federal Government to beef up security in all parts of the country to guarantee safety of Nigerians.

Speaking with journalists after House plenary in Awka, Mrs. Mmegbuanaeze described the recent massacre of two Roman Catholic Priests at Saint Ignatius parish, Gwar-Mbaloh, Benue state by suspected herdsmen as barbaric and capable of stoking up religious conflict in the country.

The Lawmaker regretted that security lapses in country have claimed the lives of many innocent Nigerians and urged President Muhammadu Buhari to sack all the security Chiefs and replace them with competent ones on the grounds that they have failed in their responsibilities.

She urged the Inspector-General of Police and all security agencies to arrest the killers of the seventeen parishioners of the church to end senseless killings of innocent Nigerians by disgruntled elements.

The lawmaker condoled the government and people of Benue State over the incident and appealed to the appropriate authorities to scale up security in the area to forestall a reoccurrence of the dastardly act.
