Breaking: ANAMBRA STATE COMMISSIONER OF ENVIRONMENT, HON. ARC. MIKE OKONKWO FLAGS OFF DE-SILTING OF ONITSHA NORTH LGA FLOODWATER CHANNELS:

The Anambra State Comm. of Environment Hon. Arc. Mike Okonkwo ably represented by the Capacity Chairman of Onitsha North LGA, Hon Patrick Agha Mba, today, Saturday May 18, 2019, flagged off the de-silting programme of His Excellency, Gov. Willie Obiano in the Council Area.

Speaking at the occasion, Hon. Agha Mba commended Gov. Obiano for his tenacity in ensuring efficient security of lives & property and environmental cleanliness, health & beauty for the people.

He appreciated the efforts and energy deployed by the Hon. Commissioner in driving the policy of His Excellency in this regard.
Disclosing that the programme which is in 2 Phases, will have Phase 1, covering Awka Rd. and Inland Town environs and shall tackle all flash points: whereby gutters, flood water channels, & other congestions on the Streets & Roads shall be removed to ensure free flow of rain water & flood water in this rainy season.

The Chairman called on Landlords & Residents alike to join hands with government to make the programme a huge success. He further called on Residents to be watchdogs over people who dump refuse indiscriminately, especially those that throw refuse into the gutters during rainfalls, so as to stop the act.
