In its present condition, poor educational outcomes and inefficient education systems are eliciting deep global concern. In addition, inadequate extra educational activities like debate and quiz at the secondary level is leaving students unequipped in areas like critical thinking, academic research skills, communication abilities and providing solutions to problems in a most creative manner, which helps in building self confidence.
Chief Emelie Okika is very much aware of this dilapidating situation, and how social immorality is now more rewarding than educational excellence.
In rolling out his plan to arrest the situation in his constituency he emphasized that one of the primary educational objectives of schools is teaching critical thinking skills and no class performs this better than a strategic debate and quiz.
He is wasting no time to set the dice rolling by organizing a quiz competition to all secondary schools in Anaocha LGA on the 9th of June at Nri Town Hall with a prize cash of N1.5m to be distributed amongst the winners. It will then move to the other LGA’s that make up the Federal Constituency.
It will form part of the official launching of his foundation that has been awarding scholarship since 2015.
He went further to explain that his company has mapped out N10m yearly for educational revitalization in the constituency and that with or without election, the scheme shall continue.
This is a successful businessman who has passion to alleviate the problems facing the people and he is so determine to make a difference if given the opportunity to represent the good people of Anaocha/Dunukofia/Njikoka at the green chambers.
I am therefore pleading to all the APGA delegates in the area to put their voices together in the one voice of Chief Emelie Okika and rest assured of quality representation.
