Hope is high for the youths in Anambra Central especially the students as Senator Dr. Victor Umeh OFR (Ohamadike Ndigbo) rolls out plans to gainfully engage them in skill acquisition, physical empowerment and education support initiatives.
However, the management board instituted to man the Anambra Central Student’s Scholarship Project of Senator Victor Umeh drawn from various offices across the seven local governments in the zone including the 7 TC chairmen, the 7 LGA party chairmen, the 7 ASATU LGA chairmen, the 7 ASATU LGA chairmen (women wing), the 7 LGA coordinators of SVUSG, the 7 LGA coordinators of VUCO, the 7 LGA leadership of PGs and women leaders of town unions has just been inaugurated and they are to commence the recruitment /screening exercises to select 70 indigent students, 10 from each LGA to benefit in the first scheme.
It is also worthy of note that the Senator Victor Umeh’s Anambra Central Constituency Scholarship Project is only a further demonstration of his love for the youth and human development as he already have about 170 beneficiaries of his existing scholarship scheme which has graduated students in various universities across the nation and degrees including Masters and PhD.
With this annual exercise however, Senator Victor Umeh who has within his few months in the senate secured employments for many unemployed youths in the constituency would have multiples of 70 students from Anaocha, Awka North, Awka South, Dunukofia, Idemili North, Idemili South, Njikoka gaining free education yearly, as long as Dr. Victor Umeh remains in office in addition to those recruited by the already existing board.
This is unprecedented, a never witnessed before… Initially when he announced his intentions for the project, many thought it impossible and a political statement but Senator Victor Umeh has never rested on his oars in ensuring that indigent students who have zeal for education are sent back to school in the next academic session thus, today’s inauguration.
