BREAKING NEWS: Peter Obi, the Vice Presidential Candidate of PDP in the 2019 General election has thanked the Igbos in Rivers State

Peter Obi, the Vice Presidential Candidate of PDP in the 2019 General election has thanked the Igbos in Rivers State and the good people of the state for voting massively for People’s Democratic Party in the state following yesterday’s declaration of the governor of Rivers State winner of the just concluded Governorship election in the state by the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC.

He went further to raise the hope of the Igbos across the country by urging them not to be perturbed nor regret voting PDP across the country because PDP is the peoples party and will continue to represent the interest of the masses.

He gave instances of places led by PDP such as Akwa Ibom with numerous developmental stride stressing that Governor Wike of Rivers State having done so well in his first tenure deserves yesterday’s victory.

He stated that the number of his Igbo brothers and sisters that welcomed him to Rivers State on 27th of January 2019 gave him much confidence that his party will win Rivers State with long margin.

He therefore imbibed the Igbos to continue to support the party with the people in mind in all states of the federation not minding that it is not their state of origin. This he said, is because where people resides, do their business and live their lives is where they ought to actively take part in deciding who should lead.

He further quipped that during the days after the postponement of Rivers State election result collation, he was cajoled by the claimed of the unknown candidate of African Action Congress AAC that he won the election in the state hence should be declared winner.
Accordingly, he stated that in South South and South East, Rivers State is the House of PDP with the highest number of supporters in the two zones hence there is no possible way of the party losing the state and to an unknown party.

He concluded by congratulating the Governor of Rivers State for his well deserved victory.
