The Anamnra State governor, Chief Willie Obiano has inaugurated a 10-member Board for the Anambra State Housing Development Corporation this morning.
The Board which has Mr Emeka Etiaba, (SAN) as the Chairman, has among its terms of reference, to exercise all functions and powers of the Corporation, to manage all the corporation’s businesses, keep and preserve all the Corporation’s property and carry out all other functions as may be directed by the state Governor.
Other members include Bar Onyeoma Anierobi as the Secretary, Prof Joe Asike, Engr Ebele Okeke, Mr Victor Idigo, Sir Isaiah Ezezika, Mrs Margaret Mozie and Mr Dennis Offor, with the Commissioner for Lands, Mr Nnamdi Onukwuba and his Housing counterpart, Mr Emeka Ezenwanne as statutory members.
While Inaugurating the board, Gov Obiano said the members were carefully selected based on their track record of experience and excellence in the core areas of endeavor. He urged the board to revamp the system to actualize it’s mandate.
The governor said the Board will oversee the operations of the corporation to ensure that it aligns with standards.
He pointed out that with sights and services being provided at the various estates coming up, the Corporation needs to be alert to its role in making developers conform to stipulated designs.
The governor tasked the Board to immediately hit the ground running, to ensure that the corporation is run transparently and with integrity.
The Chairman of board, Mr Etiaba thanked the governor for the opportunity given them to serve the state and promised that they will live up to his expectations of excellence and integrity.
He acknowledged that at present, it was difficult to get title documents in the State, and said they will immediately embark on auditing of title documents to readily avail businessmen the required legal titles to obtain funds from financial institutions and by so doing, shore up the state internally Generated revenue(IGR).
