As the helmsman at the Anambra Broadcasting Service ABS Chief Uche Nworah marks birthday, I hereby move a motion to rename ABS Film Academy to Willie Obiano Film Academy WOFA.
The new name is in honour of Governor Willie Obiano’s profound achievements in rebuilding, retooling, reinvigorating, rebranding, repositioning the once abandoned broadcast station by previous administrations.
ABS before the coming of Governor Willie Obiano was headed extinction, badly bruised, battered, raped, rodents crib, uchicha and ngwere warehouse, dilapidated, k-legged, jaundiced, epileptic, toothless, defocused, hued in shambling manifestations, operating with fossilised, primitive, old-fangled, anachronistic broadcast equipment. Plagued with maladministration, backlog of unpaid salaries, pensions and gratuities.
The ABS was almost moribund before the arrival of Governor Willie Obiano who shopped for a thoroughbred professional to resuscitate, reberth, and provoke a positive change. Consequently, Chief Uche Nworah was employed and deployed to do therapeutic job, to revive the ailing government parastatal. Today, Anambra Broadcasting Service has been restructured, rejigged, revamped, and risen to become the pride of ndi Anambra home and abroad.
Chief Uche’s midas touch in the broadcast industry was brought to bear on virtually all aspects of broadcasting including but not limited to administration, programming, marketing, digital contents, studio architecture and engineering, quality staffing and attractive enumeration. Chief Uche Nworah’s excellent performance in service has earned him several nicknames from colleagues. Also, the workaholic, creative genus has garnered in his kitty numerous accolades, applauses, and prestigious traditional titles, including the most recent, the excellent performance award from his boss, the Executive Governor of Anambra State, His Excellency, Chief Willie Obiano.
Therefore, In the spirit of ‘onye ayana nwanne ya’ and in recognition of Governor Willie Obiano’s giant strides in the state’s broadcasting house, I, and on behalf of the distinguished Film/media practitioners in the state would wish most mindedly, the MD/CEO of ABS Chief Uche Nworah to honour a personality that marked the history of broadcast industry in Anambra.
I firmly believe that posterity will be kind to us, the media, film and entertainment industry players as we unbiasedly and apolitically sign up to appreciate the governor for doing the most needful in the state’s broadcast industry, providing a befitting platform for practitioners to utilise in showcasing there quality creative works, and do profitable businesses.
it is only a blind man who will see good thing and refuse to acknowledge it.
