Shocking News: Nonso Okafor Mourns Burnt Nnewi Catholic Priest, Calls for Investigation. A man of good Heart

The Lawmakers Representing Nnewi North Constituency in Anambra State House of Assembly, Hon. Nonso Smart Okafor has expressed shock over the death of Very Rev. Fr. Dr. Edmund Nwagbala, who died as a result of a suspected fire explosion in his room.

Reacting through a Press Statement, Hon. Nonso Okafor described the late clergyman as one of the most vibrant priests he has ever come across. According to him, the late priest was committed to the growth and development of the church, especially in taking care of the welfare of the members.

Condoling with the Bishop, the entire Catholic Diocese of Nnewi, the parishioners of St. Peter Claver Catholic Church, Nnewichi, where he was the Parish Priest, Nonso Okafor noted that Very Rev. Fr. Dr. Edmund Nwagbala, who was his Parish Priest and Personal Friend, died at a time when his services were most needed especially in Evangelism which is needed for the continuous growth of the community.

He added that the late Priest devoted his life serving God in the priesthood and bringing the love of Christ to the people of Nnewi, most recently at St. Peter Claver Catholic Church, Nnewichi.

Hon. Smart, however, called for a full-scale investigation into the death of the Priest.
