The recent achievement of Nri Progress Union (N.P.U) Executives, Peace is the ultimate means of progress in every community.

For over three decades ago, the renowned ancestral home of Ndi- Igbo-Nri kingdom has not been at peace, but shattered, due to series of issues regarding kingship tussle between the two major clans of the community, Agukwu and Akamkpisi (Ikenga Nri) .

This however, has led to the cry of some part of the community (Akamkpisi) as a people being marginalised, deprived of equitable justice and subjected as second class citizens of the Town. Thus, which is the primary cause of disunity and division of the community, have been left by our elders, who have even gone back to their ancestors without bringing a lasting solution to the problems.

Perhaps, Ndi-Nri have been missing a whole lot, as our enemies utilized the opportunity created by this crevice and disintegration to invade our community and take advantage of our disunity to claim our cultural heritage.

Just recently, through the efficient, vibrant, and promising brand new Nri Progress Union, ably led by Chief Kelvin Chiedozie Obiegbunam (Oba Ochendo), Ndi- Nri after over thirty years of disintegration, came together in love and unity, to mark the year’s IGU- ARO festival ( the beginning of the year’s Luna Calendar).

The ritual which was done by the head of ADAMA Nri, Oba S.O Mbanefo, (Nri King makers), following the travelling of the Eze Nri, Eze Obidiegwu Onyesoh, as the tradition requires, brought joy, Peace, accommodation, and equally broke the jinx of disunity for over 30years as all the six (6) villages in the community, namely: Agbadana, Diodo, Uruofollo, Obeagu, Ekwenanyika and Uruoji, participated fully for the very first time in the annual event.

All thanks to the Leadership of Nri Progress Union, ably led by Oba Kelvin Chiedozie Obiegbunam (Oba Ochendo) for this great achievement of uniting and bringing together our people, as was captured in his manifesto during the electioneering campaign.

Great Nri people, Let us all come together as one great indivisible people, devoid of our selfish and unpopular interest, to support this great move of unity and progress initiated by the current N.P.U administration to propel our great community Nri forward. Unity will stand divided will fall.
